ABOUT SHELBY STREET CORRIDOR

The Shelby Street team partners with Big Car Collaborative, Garfield Park Neighbors Association, and UIndy to promote Shelby Street as a village community where a variety of local merchants, art, and community can thrive. We support mixed-use development along the IndyGo Red Line BRT route, traffic-calming and infrastructure improvements. In 2017, we are partnering with Garfield Park Neighbors Association, Friends of Garfield Park, and the University of Indianapolis to develop way-finding signage on Shelby Street and lighting for the Garfield Park mural at Suding’s Hardware.

  • Beautification of Shelby Street with improved transit stops, lighting, public art, and landscaping.
    

  • Promote Shelby Street as an emerging commercial, cultural, recreational, and residential destination.
